1 Cor 6:9–11

6:9
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive
homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals,
10
thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will
not inherit the kingdom of God.
11
Some of you once lived this way. But you were washed, you were sanctified,
you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit
of our God.

One thought:

Christians often changed their name (think Simon/Peter) so that they might be reminded that they were a new person entirely in Christ.

Three questions:

Why can’t the unrighteous inherit the kingdom of God?

Do you marvel at your sanctification? That a sinner like you could be considered ‘clean’?

What is one way that you are still ‘acting’ like your old self? Consider how you might change to be more like who you are in Christ.

Prayer:

Praise God that in Christ sinners can be made worthy of His glorious and perfect Kingdom. Give thanks that Jesus has washed His people clean and made you worthy of His Kingdom. Ask God to help you and His people act like who they are in Christ – killing sin and choosing righteousness.
