Acts 8:4–8

8:4
Now those who had been forced to scatter went around proclaiming the good
news of the word.
5
Philip went down to the main city of Samaria and began proclaiming the
Christ to them.
6
The crowds were paying attention with one mind to what Philip said, as
they heard and saw the miraculous signs he was performing.
7
For unclean spirits, crying with loud shrieks, were coming out of many who
were possessed, and many paralyzed and lame people were healed.
8
So there was great joy in that city.

One thought:

How often we see in the Scriptures a pattern of suffering followed by joy. For those who trust in Jesus there is always a happy ending.

Three questions:

Can you think of other times in the Bible where suffering is followed by a time of great joy?

How do you feel about suffering so that others might experience joy in Christ?

Ask someone how their Easter was and when they ask, tell them why it meant so much to you.

Prayer:

Give thanks that others shared the Word of God with you.

Ask that God would bring the joy of salvation to those around us.

Ask that God would make us bold in telling people about Jesus.
