1 Pet 4:1–2

4:1
So, since Christ suffered in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the
same attitude, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has finished
with sin,
2
in that he spends the rest of his time on earth concerned about the will
of God and not human desires.

One thought:

Like an abusive relationship – we need to break up with sin. Armed with Christ – we have the power to finally do it.

Three questions:

What contrast is being made in the passage concerning what we are to give our time/energy/thought to?

How do you feel toward your sin? A partner you desperately want to flee from or a close friend you would hate to let go of?

Reflect today on one sin you need to be ‘done with’.

Prayer:

Give thanks for Christ who set’s us free from the chains of sin.

Ask God that you would flee from and rid yourself of sins that still entangle.

Ask God to help you live out His will for your life.
