Matt 4:8–11

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour.

9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

One thought:

Matthew 4, along with Genesis 3 reminds us that Satan is ultimately a liar – we should question his words instead of God’s.

Three questions:

What can’t Satan offer that God can?

Do you long for the things of this world?

Get rid of something today that causes you to long for this world.

Prayer:

Praise God that He promises all good things to His people for eternity. Give thanks that in Jesus Christ, we will inherit the earth as His brothers/sisters. Ask God to help you + someone else trust in Him and not in lies from Satan/this world or the sinful nature.
