1 Pet 1:10–12

1:10
Concerning this salvation, the prophets who predicted the grace that would
come to you searched and investigated carefully.
11
They probed into what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was
indicating when he testified beforehand about the sufferings appointed for
Christ and his subsequent glory.
12
They were shown that they were serving not themselves but you, in regard
to the things now announced to you through those who proclaimed the gospel
to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven – things angels long to catch a
glimpse of.

One thought:

The gospel is not only the ‘good news’ – it is the greatest story ever told. Tragedy, twists and tension but most of all, a fairy-tale ending.

Three questions:

What is the storyline of the gospel? Could you describe it?

Do you marvel at the history of redemption?

Where would you go in the Old Testament to see prophets who served us in pointing to the gospel?

Prayer:

Acknowledge God as the grand writer of history whose plans and purposes are wonderful.

Give thanks that this good news has been preached to you and that God has worked in your heart to hear it by faith.

Ask God to help you be marvel at His grace and praise Him as He deserves.
