Unstoppable: The Acts Series

Unstoppable: The Acts Series

The last thing Jesus said to his disciples before ascending to his Father was: ‘you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.‘ (Acts 1:8, NIV)

Acts is the story of how that happens.

The gospel goes out, carried by messengers, empowered by the Holy Spirit. It’s sent under God’s control to Jews (Acts 1-7), Samaritans (Acts 8-12) and Gentiles (Acts 13-28).

They carry the glorious news: ‘God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah’, and so ‘Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved’ (Acts 2:36, 4:12, NIV).

That news rings out to the ends of the earth. It’s even come to Wollongong, of all places.

The big message of Acts is that the gospel is unstoppable! God will save through the message of Jesus, and God’s Church will grow. Are you part of that church? Are you part of that mission?
