Acts 2:42–47

2:42
They were devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
43
Reverential awe came over everyone, and many wonders and miraculous signs
came about by the apostles.
44
All who believed were together and held everything in common,
45
and they began selling their property and possessions and distributing the
proceeds to everyone, as anyone had need.
46
Every day they continued to gather together by common consent in the
temple courts, breaking bread from house to house, sharing their food with
glad and humble hearts,
47
praising God and having the good will of all the people. And the Lord was
adding to their number every day those who were being saved.

One thought:

Across the Old Testament people have been scattered in judgement. Now, in grace, God is gathering His people again.

Three questions:

Can you think of times in the Old Testament where people are scattered?

Do you long to be gathered together with God’s people?

Plan how you could get to one of the physical gatherings of Salt at least once this month (unless it is unwise for you to do so due to vulnerability).

Prayer:

Praise God that He has fulfilled His promise in Jesus to gather a people for Himself. Give thanks that you get to be gathered with God’s people on a Sunday at Salt Church. Ask God to help us value and love the physical gathering of Church.
