Matthew 6:19–21

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Jesus’ teaching on the Kingdom of God gives us a perspective that shows us the used-by-date on our possessions

Three questions:

What does it look like today to store up possessions?

How deeply do you care about material things?

What’s something you are considering buying but don’t actually need?

Prayer:

Praise God that He has promised to give us everything we could need or want in the new heavens and new earth. Give thanks that in Christ, we have God in our lives and the promise of eternal life. Ask God to help you + someone else resist the temptation of material wealth and possessions.
