1 Pet 2:11–12

2:11
Dear friends, I urge you as foreigners and exiles to keep away from
fleshly desires that do battle against the soul,
12
and maintain good conduct among the non-Christians, so that though they
now malign you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God
when he appears.

One thought:

We are like those who are waiting to be sent to our real home. This should change how we live.

Three questions:

How would others around you see your life? Would they speak to your good conduct?

How do you see this world? What ties you to it most?

What fleshly desire is waging war on your soul the most at the moment? Share that with someone.

Prayer:

Give thanks that we are a new nation of God’s people with an inheritance waiting for us that will never perish, spoil or fade.

Ask God to help you see this world as a temporary home.

Ask God to help you identify sin and win the war.
