1 Pet 4:7–8

4:7
For the culmination of all things is near. So be self-controlled and
sober-minded for the sake of prayer.
8
Above all keep your love for one another fervent, because
love covers a multitude of sins.

One thought:

The state of the game clock changes the way you play. We are in the last minutes.

Three questions:

How might it be helpful to be sober-minded/self-controlled before (for the sake of) praying – would it change what you pray for?

Do you see life as short? Or do you just feel like there is no end?

Commit to praying for five minutes every day this week

Prayer:

Acknowledge the return of Christ that will happen in God’s own timing.

Give thanks that at the end, we will receive a crown of glory and an inheritance that never spoils or fades.

Ask God to help you to pray and to love others.
