1 Pet 2:21–23

2:21
For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving
an example for you to follow in his steps.
22
He committed no sin nor was deceit found in his mouth.
23
When he was maligned, he did not answer back; when he suffered, he
threatened no retaliation, but committed himself to God who judges justly.

One thought:

We are never asked to do anything that God hasn’t done first, and to a greater degree.

Three questions:

Who did Christ submit to in His suffering on the cross?

Do you feel/see Christ’s suffering as comparable (worse even) than any you are facing/will face?

How could you be more like Christ today? Think about an area of your life that you are finding hard.

Prayer:

Acknowledge Christ as the humble servant who undertook the work of salvation for His Father’s sake.

Give thanks that Christ suffered for the sake of sinners.

Ask God to help you to follow Jesus’ example.
